How Affluent Is Jay-Z? Wealth, Salary, Profession

Jay-Z

During a Twitter Spaces debate on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, Jay-Z was just reprimanded for associating the term capitalist with the n-word. The rapper made this analogy as he elaborated on the lyrics of his most recent collaboration with DJ Khaled, God Did.

Many Internet users criticized the comparison, noting that Jay-Z was a multimillionaire and hence a product of capitalism. CelebrityNetWorth estimates 50 Cent’s net worth to be approximately $1.3 billion.

Jay-Z was asked on August 31 during a Twitter Space discussion with writer Rob Markman, DJ Khaled, and others about a line in God Did in which he mentions promoting black superstars such as Kanye West and Rihanna. He reacted as follows:

The United States has fed us lies our entire lives, and when we begin to believe them, they attempt to exclude us. They initiate the use of terminology such as “capitalist.”

We have been referred to as “n***er”, “monkey”, and “s**t”. I do care not what terms you consider. You must come up with stricter terms.

Jay-Z stated in an interview on his path to fame in the music industry that no one should feel ashamed of their accomplishments in a system that excluded everyone.

You designed a system that, as you well know, excludes us. We said okay. We chose a different approach. This composition was created by us. We hustled and f***ed ourselves to get here. And, you know, it’s like ‘Eat the rich’ and we’re not stopping!”
