The U.S. Coast Guard searched for the four passengers of a helicopter that crashed on Thursday as it was leaving an oil platform for hours in the waters off Louisiana.

Lt. Cmdr. Kevin Keefe, the search and rescue mission coordinator for the Coast Guard’s Sector New Orleans, says that deciding to end a search is never easy.

According to Petty Officer Jose Hernandez, a spokesman for the Coast Guard’s 8th District, which has its main office in New Orleans, the helicopter pilot and three oil workers perished in the Gulf of Mexico at about 8:40 a.m. CST.

Gulf Of Mexico Helicopter Crash: Four Fatalities

In Port Fourchon, the soldiers and the helicopter have returned. Five days later, a helicopter crash in the Gulf of Mexico claimed the lives of four guys, according to family members.

It is not yet known when the families will get the bodies. Three oil rig workers and a pilot were inside an oil platform when the Bell 407 helicopter crashed on Thursday morning.

The family is unclear on when this process will formally begin or when their loved ones will come home. The lifting of the airplane and the extraction of the soldiers are now the next phases.

His wife, Lacy Scarborough, alleged that she had been unsuccessfully attempting to find out more information about the search for her husband’s body for days.

David Scarborough had just concluded a two-week shift after eight years of working offshore and was on his way home to celebrate Christmas with his family.

His wife, Lacy, is currently expecting a second child after losing their first child to accidental drowning in March. Scarborough was also related to a WLOX squad member.

In addition, we’re attempting to learn more about Mississippian Tim Graham, a passenger from Quitman.

According to a Clarke County Tribune report dated Thursday night, Graham was one of the four men on board.

Gulf Of Mexico Helicopter Crash

Jose Hernandez of the U.S. Coast Guard claims that Rotorcraft Leasing Company is the true owner of the helicopter.

The names of the passengers or the pilot, as well as the accident, have not yet been disclosed by the company.

The Louisiana-based aviation company experienced its third crash in 2022 with this one. Three passengers were left stranded after a Rotorcraft helicopter crashed on December 15 in Terrebonne Bay, Louisiana, two weeks earlier.

The most recent crash was this one. Those people were ultimately saved by the American Coast Guard.

The pilot and a passenger were killed on January 14 when a Rotorcraft helicopter fell into a marsh not far from Lafourche Parish. This was the first deadly crash of the year.

The National Transportation Safety Board revealed on Thursday that it was investigating the most recent crash.

After 2004, there were 12 more Rotorcraft accidents with 10 fatalities, according to a review of the NTSB database.

NTSB reports for all three of the Company’s crashes in 2022 have not yet been released.

The NTSB website states that while the organization aspires to complete each investigation within 12 to 24 months, actual completion times may vary based on the difficulty of the investigation and the workload of the agency’s investigators.
