Megan Thee Stallion, The year 2020 was significant. The bawdy WAP, which she worked on with Cardi B, peaked at number one on the US Billboard 100. Alongside Beyoncé, Megan would achieve success once more on Savage (Remix). The Texas native, who became well-known for uploading freestyles on social media, achieved quite a fantastic feat.

Few people have made debuts as Megan Thee Stallion did. Fewer still compare to her influence among fans and in hip-hop circles. The rapper was listed among the top 100 global influencers in Time’s 2020 list.

This essay will examine Megan’s parents and their impact on her personal and professional lives.

Megan’s mother sparked her interest in Music

Megan was raised by her mother, Holly Thomas, in the South Park district of Houston after being born in Bexar County, Texas. Before Megan’s father’s release from prison, Holly raised Megan on her own for eight years. Megan’s mum was a rapper who went by the moniker Holly-Wood.

She routinely took Megan to the studio, and that’s when Megan developed her interest in music. Megan stated to Vulture:

She would therefore assume that I was in the next room coloring or watching TV when she brought me to the studio, but I was standing ear to the door and thinking, “Yeah, uh-huh, I’ma do that, too. I never wanted to rap like my mom; I wanted to rap like Biggie and Pimp C because she used to let me listen to them.

Megan discovered she was a gifted rapper and that she could pursue a career in music when she got to college. Holly recognized it as well, but she recommended Megan complete her coursework first before pursuing music. Before Megan could finish college, she became famous, and her mother left her job to oversee Megan’s profession.

She had to defend herself after her mom died in March 2019

Sadly, in March 2019, Megan’s mother lost her battle with a brain tumor. On March 22, Megan shared a snapshot of her and her mother on Instagram in which she revealed the loss:

“The world’s greatest mother. the world’s toughest female. Even now, I struggle to form entire sentences. RIP, mother.

Megan Thee Stallion had sympathy from everyone, but some people had less sympathy. How quickly Megan returned to the stage following the death of her mother was questioned by some fans. NFL player Larry Johnson claimed on Twitter that Holly’s passing was premeditated because it happened right around Megan’s big break. Megan replied to Larry’s tweet with the following:

“What you are saying is not true just because YOU found out about me around the time my mother went away. I appreciate it if your internet kooks would quit trying to link my mum getting a brain tumor to the devil because you’ve been smearing me for so long.

Unfortunately, Megan had to defend herself when Holly passed away, but she managed to get through it.

Megan revealed that her late father taught her not to settle for less in a relationship

After being released from prison, Megan’s father started building a relationship with his daughter. When her father finished speaking, Megan was eight years old; regrettably, he went away when she was fifteen. Megan shared a vintage photo of her and her father on Facebook on Father’s Day 2020, along with the caption:

The actual OG, happy Father’s Day. The world’s greatest father, my first and closest friend, and my ally when our mother would fuss. Even though he went away when I was 15 years old, I still use every lesson he ever gave me in my life. I think of you frequently.

One lesson Megan learned from her father was to never settle for less in a relationship, she said in an interview with Marie Claire in April 2020. She said, “I watched how my dad handled me and I witnessed how he treated my mom. “So many powerful good forces surround me. I won’t compromise my principles.
