The initial concerts of Strictly Come Dancing’s Johannes Radebe’s UK tour were canceled due to venue concerns, leaving the dancer “devastated.”
The professional dancer was scheduled to perform at Bridlington Spa on Friday and Saturday evenings; however, the theater announced that necessary repairs were being performed.
Both nights of the television star’s Freedom Unleashed event have been canceled.
The safety of our patrons, employees, and entertainers is our priority, stated venue manager Mark Lonsdale.
During an inspection on Thursday, the theater was closed “for repairs to be performed within the auditorium,” Mr. Lonsdale stated.
Johannes Radebe stated that canceled performances would leave patrons dissatisfied and that the box office would refund ticket holders.
Johannes Radebe praised followers for their understanding via social media.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to perform our Freedom Unleashed event in Bridlington on Friday and Saturday,” he wrote.
The Freedom Unleashed tour will resume in Southampton on April 2 as scheduled.
In the coming days, Mr. Lonsdale will conduct more inspections at the venue to determine the required repairs’ scope.
If additional performances must be canceled, consumers will be notified individually and offered refunds.
