At the age of twenty-two, Dan rose to prominence as one of the world’s best bikers. On his debut, Dan won three races on the Mountain Course Manx Grand Prix Junior, Newcomers C, and Ultra Lightweight.

Dan is the 2014 Ulster Superbike Champion; his brother, father “Richard,” and four uncles are all well-known bike enthusiasts/riders in the industry.

When he wasn’t racing superbikes, Dan Richard Kneen worked as a plumber. Dan was determined to win the TT despite numerous injuries, including broken ribs, ankles, and multiple broken bones, and tragically died during the 2018 qualifying lap.

In 2009, Kneen finished fourth in the Metzeler National Superstock 600CC Championship and third in the British Supersport Cup. In 2011, Dan competed in the British Superbike Championship’s Evo Class on a sports bike called the “Kawasaki ZX-10R.”

Despite suffering injuries in a testing accident at Jurby, Isle of Man, and missing the early season as a result, he scored a significant 8 points, with the best finish as a fourth winner at Brands Hatch.

Dan, from the Isle of Man, had won the Ulster Grand Prix Superstock in 2014 and was a regular podium finisher at road races in Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the Isle of Man TT. Kneen finished third in the 2017 TT Superstock race and set a lap record en route to winning the Tandragee 100 Superbike.

Dan Kneen’s Cause of Death

Dan Kneen, a Manxman, died on May 30, 2018, while competing in the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy Superbike qualifying session. He, the Superbike Rider, crashed on his first lap of the 37-mile Mountain Course near Churchtown.

Kneen died at the scene, and firefighters were called in after a nearby tree caught fire. The SuperBike qualifying sessions for the Isle of Man TT were red-flagged and canceled after 7 p.m. following the tragic death of Dan Kneen. When a course car collided with another bike, another accident occurred.
