CoryxKenshin Slams YouTube For Favoritism And Racism

CoryxKenshin

CoryxKenshin is not giving up easily. The Black YouTuber and gamer has been one of the most well-known creators on the internet for more than ten years. He joined the video-sharing network in 2009. But he asserts that racism and bias are now being shown against him on YouTube.

CoryxKenshin published a video titled “YouTube: Racism and Favoritism” on August 24, 2022, in which he discussed his prior encounters with what he perceived to be racially discriminatory behavior by YouTube toward him.

CoryxKenshin accuses YouTube of discrimination and favoritism

The gamer immediately stated, “The charges I am making against YouTube are highly serious, and I am taking this video incredibly seriously. I will try to explain the problem as clearly as possible so that there is no “lost context.”

Additionally, he didn’t want to be the one to accuse others of bigotry or favoritism simply because they were not White like him. Even though Cory admitted to having reservations about comparable matters in the past, he rejected them since he did not think they warranted much attention.

The YouTuber then charged that YouTube was either racist, “picking favorites,” or both. Then, after stating he could “no longer let it slide,” he went into depth about the context and supporting information for his assertions.

On August 18, 2022, he published a repeat of The Mortuary Assistant. Shortly after it went online, the video was age-restricted for allegedly violating YouTube’s Suicide & Self-Harm policy without sufficient justification, as he explained in the following video.

He went to check their videos after seeing that everyone else was playing the same game and uploading playthroughs to their YouTube channels. It turns out that just his video was rated for older audiences.

When he realized this, he appealed the restriction but was unsuccessful. He even asked his YouTube representative to look into the restriction, who found that the block might be related to a section of the video at the end.

Cory claimed that he went back and watched other people’s videos to see if they included the passage his rep had suggested, which dealt with a character dealing with mental health issues. For instance, he pointed out that his video was not age-restricted and that Markiplier’s movie contained features that were comparable to his.

Markiplier sent his video clip to his agent and then to the policy team, and was shocked by YouTube’s decision. He predicted that YouTube will uphold its position and keep Markiplier’s video age-restricted. YouTube, on the other hand, removed his restriction on age.

YouTube used Markiplier’s video, in Cory’s words, to “prove [his] innocence.” Then he wrote a lengthy email to his YouTube representative expressing his worries about racism and favoritism in this situation.

Additionally, he expressed a wish to speak with the policy team to clarify the situation. He was curious about three things: if his film had been examined by a human or a bot; whether it had been age-restricted; and why it had taken Markiplier’s video to get his restriction lifted. His video and Markiplier’s were both again age-restricted on YouTube after around two days.

He said that this was an effort on the part of YouTube or the policy team to silence him or stop him from bringing up the matter once more. He asked, “Do you know how terrible this is looking for you, YouTube.” “Do you realize how unfair this seems?”

On YouTube, CoryxKenshin Talks About Similar Experiences

According to the timeline above, Cory claimed that he has been aware of YouTube’s prejudice and bigotry for a long time.

It’s common for Cory to leave and come back to YouTube. And each time he does, he immediately rises to the top of the platform’s popular topics. However, in his experience, he only managed to hold onto the top spot for a short while before YouTube found “some random problem” to knock him off every time. When he last visited the site, he mentioned that YouTube had copiedrighted a 2019 video of him.

Why don’t these issues appear when I’m not uploading, you ask? Cory questioned.

He referenced YouTube Black later in the video, labeling the action “condescending and disrespectful” to Black producers. The idea of a separate platform for Black creators, in his opinion, meant that they weren’t competent enough to contend on mainstream YouTube. “Fake! It is a forgery, that much is clear.

He yelled just before the movie ended. Additionally, he expressed regret for letting his emotions come across in the video since that was never his intention. Although the creator has a sizable following on social media, YouTube has not yet released a statement about it.
