Coban Porter, a sophomore guard at the University of Denver and the sibling of Nuggets standout Michael Porter Jr., was apprehended early on Sunday in connection with a deadly crash, according to Denver Police.
According to Kurt Barnes, a spokesman for the Denver Police Department, Coban Porter, 21, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide and reckless driving. At 1:54 a.m., a two-car accident took place. Authorities report that one driver perished there.
Michael Porter Jr. was not a part of the incident, the Nuggets confirmed to the Post. He was unable to participate in Sunday’s 101-99 defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder due to personal matters.
Coban Porter was on the mend after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament earlier this season. In 28 games as a rookie last year, he scored 11.4 points on average.
