Claire dela Fuente Career and Education 

Claire began her singing career at a young age. But it wasn’t until she was 15 that she gained national attention after winning the grand prize in a singing competition she entered. While her singing career was flourishing, she was studying accounting at the University of the East.

Claire also got her first commercial gig as a singer of a jingle for Hope cigarettes. Her friendship with UE alumnus and contest judge George Canseco landed her the commercial that made her famous for its “imported” sound.

Her talent has earned her the moniker “Karen Carpenter of the Philippines.” She left music to pursue a career as a businesswoman. De la Fuente’s grill and seafood restaurant on Macapagal Avenue in Pasay City was also founded by her.

Later, the restaurant expanded and opened additional locations in Ortigas, Pasig, and the Mall of Asia. Along with that, she co-founded Asian Noodle Co. with a Thai chef and a Davao City businesswoman.

Claire turned to a bus company called Philippine Corinthian Liner Corporation in addition to the food business (PCLC). Domestic corporations that provide transportation and shuttle services, as well as business carriers, manufacture and repair vehicle parts, and accessories.
