Christine Chiu Spouse, Children, and Surrogacy

Christine Chiu, who married Gabriel Chiu in 2008, opens up on Bling Empire about numerous family secrets. For one thing, she revealed that her husband would be the emperor’s son, and their son Gabriel Christian Chiu III, aka Baby G, would be a “little prince,” if dynasties were still a thing in China.

The Chiu family’s pride and joy was born on June 29th, 2018, weighing 7 pounds, 7.4 ounces, and measuring 19.9 inches. Christine wrote on Instagram recently (Jan. 15, 2021) as the family celebrated the Chinese New Year, “we waited 12 years to be able to celebrate Chinese New Year as a family with Baby G.”

Christine and her husband meet with their doctor to discuss having another child in PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek at the 2021 release of Bling Empire. And, in light of the challenging first pregnancy, the doctor suggested surrogacy. Concerned for Christine’s safety, Gabriel even asked her not to carry the baby alone. He spoke, choked up:

“You could have perished. Re-pregnancy is not an option for you. I was almost forced to choose between you and having a child.”

Meanwhile, Christine, convinced that having a baby through surrogacy would offend her in-laws, appeared to be in too much of a quandary to make any decision.

“Gabe’s parents are opposed to surrogacy. They are extremely traditional, and surrogacy is not accepted. I literally just got out of the dog house with my in-laws and I’m not ready to go through it again.”
