Who is Chris Thieneman?

Chris Thieneman is the CEO of Thieneman Real Estate, LLC, a renowned residential and commercial building and development company in Louisville, and a former professional football player. Chris was an honorable mention All-American football player at the University of Louisville. He joined the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League after graduating and also played in the Canadian Football League.

Chris Thieneman joined the family real estate business when his playing career ended, helping to carry on a heritage of honesty and integrity as a successful home builder. He is a devout conservative Republican, is working for lower taxes, more accountability, and more jobs for the residents of South and Southwest Louisville. In the next November election, Chris is running for the Kentucky State Senate to serve the people of the 37th District.

Career

Thieneman signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent as a defensive end in 1988, but he did not play in a single regular-season game and was released from the offseason practice squad. He played four years of professional football in Canada, with the Sacramento Gold Miners of the Canadian Football League.

Thieneman began working in the family real estate firm after football and acquired his real estate license. Thieneman took over the family business and set up his development firm. In the Greater Louisville Metro Area, he has built trailer parks, family-based subdivisions, low-income housing, and office complexes. Thieneman is one of Dixie Highway’s largest owners of unoccupied land.

In 2008, Thieneman ran for Congress in Kentucky’s 3rd congressional district as a Republican. Thieneman ran for Mayor of Louisville in the Republican primary in May 2010 but was defeated by Hal Heiner. Heiner would eventually lose to current Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer by a razor-thin margin. Thieneman ran for the 37th district state senate seat in the spring of 2012, barely defeating former Metro Councilman Doug Hawkins in the Republican primary in May. [requires citation] In the general election, Thieneman was defeated by incumbent Democrat State Senator Perry Clark by a large majority. Thieneman has never been elected to any public office, despite repeated efforts.
