Chayanne was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on June 28, 1968. His father is a sales manager named Quintino Figueroa, and her mother is a teacher named Irma Luz Arc. Puerto Rican is his nationality. Elmer Figueroa Arce is his true name. Chayanne is his mother’s nickname, which he has had since childhood. His mother adopted his name from a 1950s television show. He has four brothers and sisters.

Following this, he launched his solo career, signing with RCA Victor and releasing his debut album, ‘Chayanne es mi Nombre,’ in 1986. He also published his second album, ‘Sangre Latina,’ in 1986. After that, he switched labels to Sony Music and released his first self-titled album in 1987. On November 1, 1988, he released his self-titled second album.

Furthermore, on August 7, 1990, he issued the album ‘Tiempo de Vals,’ which included some of his best-selling songs such as the title track, created by Jose Maria Cano and Eros Ramazzotti, and ‘Daria Cualquier Cosa,’ composed by Luis Gomez Escolar and Julio Seijas. He also toured alongside Mexican Alejandro Fernandez and fellow Puerto Rican Marc Anthony in 2005.

Aside from that, he is involved in the acting business. Among his credits are ‘La Ninera,’ ‘Sweethearts,’ ‘Juan y Jose program,’ ‘Savage Attraction,’ ‘Volver an Empezar,’ and ‘AI Compas de un Sentimiento.’
