Cesar Millan Attempted Suicide After Divorcing His Ex-Wife Ilusion Wilson

Cesar Millan

Cesar Millan is no longer married, but he was previously married to his ex-wife Ilusion Wilson, who taught him how to be a better spouse. Millan was devastated when their marriage ended in divorce and considered suicide. Soon after, his now-fiancée Jahira Dar entered his life and helped him move on.

Cesar Millan and Ex-Wife Ilusion Wilson’s Divorce

Millan and Wilson’s love story is straight out of a romantic Hollywood film, with a surprise ending. Wilson, then 17, observed the dog trainer and fell in love at first sight.

He was 23 years old, living alone with his six dogs after fleeing Mexico at the age of 21. After becoming friends, the two hit it off right away.

However, things took a turn for the worst when Millan discovered that he could face prison time for dating an underage female. He’d fled Mexico to flee poverty, and he couldn’t risk being deported. All he could do was ask Wilson to stop seeing him.

The psychiatrist was heartbroken, but she chose to stay with Millan. So, when she became 18, she went to him and the two started living together.

The adolescent learned she was pregnant months later. The dog expert wasted no time proposing to her. They married in 1994, and their first child, Andre, was born the following year.

However, their marriage ended after a year because Millan did not value their relationship. The Dog Whisperer host considered his wife as a valuable asset rather than an equal partner.

He realized the value of family and his wife after his wife abandoned him and their young son. Because of the divorce, he chose to get treatment to repair his marriage.

The pair reconciled six months later. Millan’s second son, Calvin Millan, was born in 2001 to Millan and his ex-wife. Wilson filed for divorce after 16 years of marriage in July 2010.

Cesar Millan Has Been Devastated By Divorce

Millan was distressed by the timing of the divorce. He hadn’t anticipated seeing his long-term marriage crumble owing to financial troubles. His depression had been exacerbated by the death of his 16-year-old dog, Daddy.

And three months later, he learned he was divorcing. With all of his difficulties, the Culiacán native contemplated suicide. He made medicines and took them, only to wake up in a mental institution.

His kids found him unconscious and hurried him to the hospital. Millan detailed the horrifying experience with Today, adding that he was secretly begging his children to take him to their land to die. Following his recovery from the catastrophe, the 52-year-old realized the impact he was having on his visitors.

So he determined to improve his life, and the process became easier when he rediscovered love with his current partner Jahira Dar in 2010.

After their divorce in April 2012, he agreed to pay his ex-wife a one-time payment of $400,000, monthly spousal support of $23,000, and monthly child support of $10,000.

Cesar Millan married Jahira Dar in 2016

Millan has been in a long-term relationship with his current partner Dar, a former stylist and wardrobe consultant, since August 2010, putting an end to any LGBT claims.

He followed through on his month-long proposal plan in April 2016 by telling his fiancée they were going to Spain. He changed her plane tickets to Greece without telling her and took her on a dinner date on Mount Lycabettus in Athens.

While a violinist serenaded them, the dog trainer got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend. In the same month, he boasted about his romantic proposal to People, saying he was happy with his faultless plan.

He also praised his fiancée and told how she helped him restore his life. Dar was described by Millan as compassionate, serene, spiritual, clever, instinctive fun, and strong, among other things.
