Recently, Cary Elwes shared a gruesome photo of his rattlesnake-bit hand on Instagram. The Stranger Things actor tweeted on April 25 that he was recovering nicely from the reptile bite he had on Saturday.

Elwes posted a photo of his wounded finger, which was red and bruised-looking. He started his statement by composing,

Rodents of Unusual Size, or ROUS, are monsters from the movie The Princess Bride. He also expressed his gratitude to the emergency and medical workers that helped him when he needed it. He wrote,

“I am grateful for the excellent care provided by the workers at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, the LA County Fire Department, and Malibu Urgent Care. Thanks to all of these amazing people, I’m healing well.

Doing well, Cary Elwes?

Elwes was taken by air ambulance to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on Saturday after being bitten by a rattlesnake close to his Malibu home. He was working outside when the incident happened, according to those close to him; it was not made clear where he was a bit.

Elwes’ injuries were reportedly severe enough that he needed emergency care, and many around him reportedly thought it was a life-threatening injury. He got the help he needed at the right time and is no longer in danger.

The 59-year-old was previously hurt on The Princess Bride set and had to go to the hospital twice. During a staged KO, he was accidentally knocked out cold and needed sutures. Later, he broke his toe and spent the entire production walking with a limp.

His performances in movies like The Jungle Book, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Cradle Will Rock, A Christmas Carol, No Strings Attached, and others have made him a household name.
