Sanders worked as a political advisor for Kansas Senator Sam Brownback as a press assistant for his Senate office in Washington, D.C. in 2011. He worked on Ted Yoho’s US House of Representatives election campaign in 2012, and his work was named “the best political advertising of 2012” by Slate’s David Wiegel.
