Bob Dylan, The Singer Gets An Appearance On Coronation Street

Bob Dylan

After admitting he is a fan of the ITV soap opera Coronation Street, Bob Dylan has been offered a cameo. In a rare interview with The Wall Street Journal, the singer talked about how much he loves the long-running ITV program.

Dylan claimed that he feels “at home” while watching the show.

Producer of Coronation Street Iain MacLeod responded by telling The Daily Telegraph that Dylan could perform karaoke with the characters Rita Sullivan and Ken Barlow.

If Dylan agreed to show up, MacLeod offered that the scene might be included in an open mic night at the Rovers Return bar.

It blows my mind to learn that Bob Dylan watches Coronation Street, MacLeod remarked.

“I would adore the thought of him showing up in the Rovers Return at some point.

“Perhaps we could write at an open mic night where a shady singer from Manchester could come in and perform a turn.”

Two years after the premiere episode of Coronation Street aired, Dylan released his self-titled debut album.

Both he and Coronation Street built their reputations in the 1960s, championed working-class voices and concerns, and told stories with distinctive sensibilities and senses of humor, according to MacLeod.

What Dylan recently binge-watched was a question that was posed to him in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.

He answered:

“Father Brown, Coronation Street, and a few early Twilight Zone episodes. Despite the fact that I am aware of how dated they are, I enjoy watching them.

“News shows and packaged programming are not my favorites. I never watch anything evil or offensive. Nothing nasty or repulsive.”

The Twilight Zone is a collection of science fiction stories, and Father Brown is a BBC detective show based on GK Chesterton’s short writings.
