Asakura Yoh

The lead character in the manga and anime series Shaman King is Asakura Yoh. He is the primary heir to the Asakura Family and the Asakura Hao, the series’ central antagonist, maternal twin brother.

He joined and served as the team captain for Team “Funbari Onsen” during the 2000 Shaman Fights. After the match, Yoh marries his longtime girlfriend Kyyama Anna, and the two have a son they call Asakura Hana.

Asakura Yoh was voiced by the Japanese voice actress Yoh, and the English version of this character was voiced by Sebastian Arcelus.

Asakura Yoh Character

Yoh, who is by nature a slacker, adopts a carefree, relaxed outlook on everything, including realizing his ambition of becoming Shaman King.

He chose to form bonds with spirits instead of people because he felt rejected by everyone outside of his family, and he thinks that someone who can see spirits cannot be evil. Asakura Yoh has a catchphrase that sums up how he sees the world: “everything will work out” (, “nan to ka naru”).

He rarely has a negative relationship with anyone and always chooses to get along with new acquaintances. As evidenced by the fact that Tao Ren was slain and could only be revived by Iron Maiden Jeanne if Yoh withdrew from the competition, he genuinely cares about his best friends and is willing to die for them or give up his aspirations. Although he is kind and loving, he also admitted to disliking humanity when he spoke with Asakura Hao inside the Great Spirit.

Yoh has decided to make Anna’s life simpler after he assumes the title of Shaman King since he genuinely loves her. Just by first glimpsing her face, he flushed. Before he left for the Shaman Fight in America, Anna questioned him, “Tonight… may I sleep near you?” he responded, “Yes,”

Asakura Yoh, the protagonist of the Shaman King series, is an ordinary adolescent at the age of 13. He wears orange headphones behind or on his ears frequently and has neck-length dark brown hair. When it gets cold, he will button up his shirt, don a necktie, and don the typical school uniform jacket. He typically wears his school uniform with his shirt open.

During the battle, he sported a black vest, orange-lined shorts with trim, and wraparound sandals. He can be seen sporting sweatpants with sandals, long black pants with wrap-around sandals, and a shirt with a Funbari Onsen advertisement during the second round of the Shaman Fights.

In between the fights of the Second Round of the Shaman Fights, he wore a yukata, a blue robe linked together with an orange belt around the waist, where he stores Amida maru’s memory tablet. His garments have another Funbari Onsen advertising embroidered over the chest, and a black cape is draped over his shoulders.

When Hana was a little child, he began dressing in jeans trousers, a white t-shirt with short sleeves, and a scarf with a plaid pattern when he was 17 years old.

His hair reached his shoulders and was a little longer. At the age of 22, Yoh’s hair is now waist-length and thicker. He has taken off his orange headphones, bear claw jewelry, and an open shirt in favor of a simple white t-shirt. Hao’s orange slacks are fastened with one of his star earrings, and his sandals are now made of brown leather.

Asakura Yoh’s Strengths & Skills

Since Anna became his fiancée, Yoh has been put through grueling and painful training, which has allowed him to build a tougher and stronger body. He is incredibly flexible, perceptive, at ease, and cool during the fight.

He learns to block Furyoku strikes because of his unhurried and composed temperament, a skill likened to a grass straw that bends with the wind to prevent breaking. Later, he perfects this ability into a move that cancels Furyoku, and he learns to employ it either directly by grasping his opponent for more deadly results, or indirectly through his Over-Soul.

Yoh, who uses metal to withstand Ren’s lightning attack, attunes his Furyoku to that of earth and joins the Five Elemental Warriors. Kyyama Anna evaluated the Furyoku ideals of Yoh and the others as he battled his way through the Plants. His Furyoku is found to be roughly 108,000 there.

Yoh is a skilled shaman who has gained various skills from sources like his grandfather, Anna, the cat spirit Matamune, and the Gandhara teams.

This is an illustration of onmyôji magic used by the Asakura clan. This technique allows an onmyôji to conjure Shikigami (familiar spirits) from talismans made of leaves or paper.

They can be used for anything from housework to murder. Under the guidance of his grandfather, Asakura Yohmei, Yoh showed the application of the technique when he was 10 years old, albeit he never completely perfected it. At best, he could draw three Shikigami from the leaves.

He learned the sutra known as Okyo from Anna. Any spirit with Buddhist wisdom that hears the Sankiraimon, also known as the Three Refuges, exorcism chant, will be sent to the afterlife. The sutra, however, operates largely on ghosts who identify with eastern shamanism because it is a written language medium.

The Ch Senji Ryakketsu that Anna brought him from Master Yohmei has numerous spells that Yoh learned. You can read the flow of Furyoku and discern its direction by using this spell. If employed correctly, most magical attacks can be rendered useless.

The Oni that Anna had made may be vanquished with the use of the secret exorcism magic that Matamune had left for Yoh. But this spell exhausted Matamune’s supply of Furyoku and consigned him to the hereafter.

Harusame Amida maru’s sword when he was alive was called Harusame (Sword of Light in the English version). After beating Tokageroh, who had taken it from the museum to exact revenge on Amidamaru, Yoh was able to obtain it. Later, Yoh uses the Harusame as his main Over Souls conduit.

The Asakura Family has owned the red knife-shaped rock known as the Futunomitama no Turugi since Asakura Hao’s reign. Despite being simply made of rock and having once belonged to a sword deity, it is the perfect material for developing a sword Over-Soul.

Sprits

The first ghostly protector of Yoh is a 600-year-old samurai named Amidamaru. The character Amidamaru can enter Yoh’s body through Hyi-Gattai and later the Over-Soul is dependable and faithful. Amidamaru is a strong yet reserved man who loves Yoh and calls him “Y-Dono.”

During the second round of the Shaman Fights, the Gandhara concluded that Yoh was one of the Five Elemental Warriors, and according to Pascal Avaf, Yoh was destined to employ the Spirit of Earth because it can produce metal. To protect himself and others from various attacks, Yoh has only been seen employing the Spirit of Earth to create gravity fields.

Asakura Yoh Past History

Yoh was born in Izumo Shimane, Japan, on May 12, 1985. [6] to Keiko Asakura, a Miko, and ascetic monk Mikihisa Asakura. He was raised in the family’s shamanic practices by his grandfather Yohmei, who lived in Izumo with his mother, his father’s apprentice Tamao, and him for the majority of his youth.

Due to his shamanic upbringing, Yoh spent the majority of his childhood by himself and had few friends save his family and the spirits. Yoh spends most of his time listening to music by his favorite musician, SOUL BOB, as he was frequently an outcast among common people, alienated as a result of his ability.

But he did constantly hope for a brighter life for himself. He was motivated by this to become Shaman King. When Yoh was four years old, his grandfather introduced him to the Great Spirit. Yoh, being lazy that he was, recognized the potential for an easy life and decided to become Shaman King from that point on.

Yoh’s training went slowly, but at age ten, he learned that he was going to marry the young Itako, Kyyama Anna. At this point, the cat spirit Matamune of the Cats, who had been a servant of the Asakura household for more than a thousand years, was appointed as his first Guardian Ghost.

Yoh’s grandfather asked Matamune to come back from the underworld so that he could go with Yoh to Ozorenzan, where they would meet Anna, who had just concluded her Itako training with Yoh’s grandma Asakura Kino.

Yoh encounters a little girl on his first day in Osorezan and is taken aback by her chilly greeting. After that, Oni assaulted him in the streets, but Matamune intervened to save him.

Nevertheless, the two ultimately made it to Yoh’s grandmother’s house and were introduced to his future wife, who, to Yoh’s surprise, turned out to be the girl from earlier. Yoh progressively reveals the mystery around Anna and her Reishi talents, which first disturbs him.

However, it cost Matamune the last of the Reyoku and made him disappear. Yoh’s boldness coaxed emotion from Anna, whose negative emotions constituted the Oni, and dissolved it.

You relocated to Funbari Hills after arriving in Tokyo so he could take part in the Tokyo Shaman Fight and discover his ghost. He first encountered Oyamada Manta at the Funbari Hill cemetery after enrolling at Funbari ga Oka, the same school as Manta.

Following Manta’s beating, Ryu confronted Yoh. With Amida maru’s assistance, Yoh utilized Hyi-Gattai to merge with Amidamaru and defeat Ryu. It was at this point that Yoh decided to make Amidamaru his companion. Yoh is disappointed when Amidamaru declines.

Yoh sees no evil in Manta and tries to find out why he declined to team up with Amidamaru as he is being dragged along by him. When they arrive at the Funbari Local Museum, they both notice the old, rusted Harusame sword.

Later that evening, they discover Mosuke sobbing in the same room where he created the sword. He starts by outlining the background of his promise and how they both endured a 600-year wait. In return for the pledge, Yoh teams up with Mosuke to make a brand-new sword for Amidamaru, which he subsequently presents to him. Amidamaru then decides to work alongside Yoh. You ultimately gave the museum the Harusame back.

Together, they go on numerous adventures, including rescuing children from a fire, releasing an enraged earthbound spirit from a billboard, and stopping a bully from taking his own life.
