All About Isabella Dawson, Adopted Child Of Rosario Dawson

Isabella Dawson

Isabella Dawson is the daughter of American actress Rosario Dawson. Isabella is Rosario’s adopted daughter. When the Dawson family found that her birth mother was in foster care, they went in search of her and adopted her.

After seven years, she revealed her real name. In 2013, Isabella, at 11, moved in with her mother Rosario, and in 2014, she was adopted. Until 2021, Rosario kept her true identity a secret. Isabella used to go by the name Lola before her true identity was revealed.

On the Parents’ We Are Family podcast when asked about Lola’s age, she stated that Lola was not her real name. She continued by saying that she didn’t give the child a name when she adopted her. Isabella doesn’t know where the name came from, but it seemed like someone had kept it and everyone was still vying for it.

At the time, she didn’t feel the need to correct it, but as her daughter grew older, Isabella decided to formally tell her name since she didn’t like it when people called her Lola. She gave Isabella her grandmother Isabel’s name.

What led her mother to choose an older child for adoption?

When appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Rosario revealed the real rationale for her decision to adopt an older child. When she realized that her father was not her biological father, she was only five years old, and as a result, her perspective on adoption changed.

He had a daughter when he married her mother when she was 18 and raised her as his own. She claimed that while she may have come from a single-parent household like the other children in her area, her father wed her mother when she was just a young child.

Then, five-year-old Dawson wondered if her father had never wed her mother. Had anyone been interested in her mother’s marriage? Isabella recalled telling her parents she was going to adopt older kids since it’s easy to adopt a cute baby, but what about the older kids who also needed parents? She may or may not have biological siblings. She is Rosario’s only adoptive kid, though.

Rosario revealed Isabella’s lack of a smartphone to Access in December 2018. Despite not having one growing up, she considers it to be essential.

The importance of learning in three dimensions and how it affects brain growth was more points made by Isabella. She added that she talked about it with Isabella and gave examples of other kids who are developing online based on their preferences.

The marital situation of her mother

Rosario Dawson dated US Senator Cory Booker from February 2022 until their breakup. The two first connected at a political fundraiser for a mutual acquaintance in the summer of 2018. They had a long conversation the night they met, according to Booker, who revealed this to The Washington Post in 2019.

He acknowledged not knowing how to get Dawson’s phone number and recalled stupidly outlining his plan to get in touch with her, at which point Dawson asked if he wanted her number.

Rosario subsequently revealed that she found Booker to be endearing even though their romance developed gradually. In March 2019, Dawson made public her relationship with Booker. After her breakup with Booker, Dawson appeared to have moved on. After sharing a brief video with the poet Nnamdi Okafor in August, she is now related to him.

In the video, Okafor said, “I Love You,” and Dawson responded, “I Love You Too.” She posted a brief video of the two of them dancing to Sonny & Cher’s “I got you, sweetheart” on August 13 to wish him a happy birthday.
