In response to claims that musician Kanye West fostered a “toxic environment” while working with the company, Adidas has opened an investigation.
According to allegations made by certain Yeezy cooperation employees, he bullied them by showing them graphic images and videos.
They claimed in a letter that West’s managers “turned their moral compass off” despite being aware of his “problematic behavior.”
Adidas stated that it is still uncertain as to whether the accusations are true.
The validity of the allegations presented in an anonymous letter is now unclear, the business said in a statement on Thursday.
However, we have decided to immediately begin an independent inquiry into the matter to address the complaints because we take them very seriously.
West hasn’t commented on the Rolling Stone report after being fired by the corporation last month after making anti-Semitic remarks online.
Anonymous staff members reportedly complained to Rolling Stone that he used “provocative, frequently sexualized, and frequently geared toward women” behavior in an effort to intimidate them.
It was claimed that he did this by allegedly displaying to them graphic photographs of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and his own obscene movies.
Employees complained to Adidas about “the poisonous and chaotic environment that Kanye West created” and “a really sick pattern of predacious behavior against women” while working for him as part of the collaboration, according to a letter featured in the article.
Rolling Stone reports that the letter said:
“In the past, he has burst at female colleagues with derogatory comments and used suggestive sexual connotations when giving design criticism.
Adidas staff members should never be subjected to this kind of response from a brand partner, and Adidas leadership should never stand by and let it.”
West has not yet responded to the allegations. West has been reached by the BBC.
