Zoe Milner

A deaf artist is presenting an exhibition of works that illustrate the importance of British Sign Language (BSL) in her life.

Zoe Milner, 21 years old and from Nottingham, was born severely deaf and her first language was BSL.

The exhibition, entitled I Talk With My Hands, will feature artwork influenced by her own experiences.

It is scheduled to take place from 9 February to 29 March at the Window Gallery of the charity City Arts in Hockley.

Pride

Ms. Milner said:

“I believe that deaf representation is essential, and this exhibition affords me the chance to promote awareness.

“It is essential that others comprehend our viewpoint. I would like for others to understand about deaf culture.”

She stated that she wants to encourage the deaf community and other disabled individuals to be proud of their identities.

Director of City Arts Suzannah Bedford remarked: “We are really honored to share Zoe’s art with the citizens of Nottingham.

“The exhibition is displayed in our Window Gallery, which allows locals and passersby to view high-quality art in the street without entering a gallery.”
