Where was Charles Gillespie born? Ethnicity, Nationality, Family

On August 26, 1998, Charles Gillespie was born in Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada. Ryan, Patrick, and Michael, three elder brothers, and Meghan, a younger sister, all shared his upbringing.

Jeanette, Charles’ mother, encouraged her children to become musicians. Charles started playing the guitar and has continued to do so. Charles’ love of music was influenced by playing with their older brothers while growing up. According to him, Entertainment Tonight:

“My brothers have been hammering it into me what kind of music to listen to and what kinds of individuals to admire. And it’s always been artists from the 1970s up till now, in actuality, but a lot of Green Day and that punk rock stuff. I feel most comfortable with that.

Charles still has close ties to his mother, brothers, and grandmother. Charles’ character performed an emotional song he had composed as an apology following a disagreement with his mother in the seventh episode of Julie and the Phantoms. Sadly, Luke passed away before he could dedicate the song to his mother. According to Charles, the moment made him more aware of his relationship with Jeanette:

Everyone has argued with their parents and gone too far, but you should never lose sight of what family means to you and who the people in your family are to you since you never know when you’ll lose them. It was something wonderful to be able to have that situation.

Charles Gillespie sang at open mics in Los Angeles

Before being cast in Julie and the Phantoms, Charles sang at open mics in Los Angeles.

Charles relocated to Toronto and subsequently Los Angeles after graduating from high school in order to pursue acting. By day, he attended acting auditions, and by night, he gave performances at any open mic that would have him. When he switched to an electric guitar, he began touring Los Angeles and attending every open mic he could find, attending two per night, he recalled.

As Charles read the Julie and the Phantoms script, he felt a connection to it. He admitted to getting butterflies reading the script to Entertainment Tonight. He continued, “I was absolutely there. It’s something that simply struck with your beliefs, something you can relate with.”

Charles received a ton of emails from viewers thanking him for the show’s portrayal of the death of a family member after it concluded. He admitted to Seventeen that he had no idea how much of an impact Luke’s story would have on people’s lives. He said, “[Julie and the Phantoms] is fun for some viewers. But for others, it’s a really powerful message, and I’m grateful to have contributed to that.

Although Charles Gillespie is quite private about his personal life, we believe he is single

Charles has been in the spotlight for some time, but he hasn’t revealed anything about his love life. Information pertaining to his connections has been tightly held back by him.

On closer scrutiny, Charles doesn’t seem to be dating anyone, according to his social media sites. We believe he is a single man. Or perhaps he is seeing someone but is keeping it a secret from us.

Luke and Julie are about to start dating in Julie and the Phantoms, but since Luke is a ghost, it’s unlikely that things would work out. But according to Charles, we shouldn’t rule out a romance between the two: “So I’m curious to see what the [writers] have in mind for what’s next,” he said to Entertainment Tonight.
